The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center conducted its annual Walk for Change event on April 23 in Brighton.
More than 1,500 people participated to show their respect and support to those who have been sexually abused. People gathered at Artesani Park around 9 a.m., participated in some entertainment activities, and walked along the Charles River under the sun.
The walk also raises money to help victims heal and this year they raised more than $200,000, according to Jessica Atcheson, the center’s marketing and communications manager. She added that it was the biggest one yet.
